Mylar tape is the core insulating material of various power transformers, pulse transformers, audio transformers, motors and motor coils. It is mainly used for winding interlayer insulation, coil end wrapping, lead wire insulation fixation, etc., which can effectively prevent coil short circuit and improve insulation grade and operation stability of equipment.
Used for insulation, isolation, fixation and identification in capacitors, inductors, resistors, coils and other components. In wire harness processing, it can be used for wire harness bundling, branch fixing and insulation protection, especially for electronic wire harness which needs high temperature resistance and aging resistance.
In the process of PCB manufacturing and electronic assembly, Mylar tape is often used for gold finger shielding, solder joint protection, insulation reinforcement, line isolation and so on. Its high temperature resistance makes it possible to be used in high temperature processes such as reflow soldering and wave soldering to protect sensitive areas from solder pollution.
In switching power supply, power adapter, charger, inverter, UPS and other equipment, Mylar tape is used for internal line insulation, component fixation, enclosure and circuit board isolation to improve the safety and reliability of the equipment.
In the manufacture of lithium battery cells, Mara adhesive tape is used for the insulation of tabs, the insulation between cells and protective plates, and the surface protection and fixation of cells. Some flame-retardant Mylar tapes can also be used for insulation protection of energy storage system to improve the safety of battery packs.
It can also be used for thin film switch, FPC insulation, nameplate fixing, surface shielding of metal parts, and various industrial scenes requiring insulation, temperature resistance and solvent resistance.
Mylar tape is made of a PET (polyester) film carrier coated with acrylic adhesive. The PET film provides excellent mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and high temperature resistance, while the acrylic adhesive offers reliable bonding performance across a wide temperature range.
Mylar tape is available in a wide range of colors including Yellowish, Deep Yellow, Blue, Red, Green, Black, White, and Transparent. Different color options allow for easy identification and organization in wiring harness and electronic assembly applications.
Depending on the product model, the voltage resistance of Mylar tape ranges from 3.0 KV to 6.2 KV. The thicker 0.08mm versions (HY100-1B series) offer a higher voltage resistance of up to 6.2 KV, making them suitable for more demanding electrical insulation applications.
Yes. Mylar tape's high temperature resistance makes it suitable for use in high-temperature manufacturing processes such as reflow soldering and wave soldering. It effectively protects sensitive PCB areas and components from solder contamination and thermal damage.
Yes. Mylar tape is widely used in lithium battery cell manufacturing for tab insulation, cell-to-protection-board insulation, and surface protection. Flame-retardant versions are also available for energy storage system insulation, significantly improving battery pack safety.
The standard series (e.g., HY100-1 to HY100-8) features a film thickness of 0.025mm and a total thickness of 0.06mm, while the "B" series (e.g., HY100-1B to HY100-8B) uses a thicker 0.05mm film with a total thickness of 0.08mm. The "B" series provides higher voltage resistance (6.2 KV vs. 4.2 KV), making it ideal for applications requiring stronger electrical insulation.
